Mycopunk Weapon Tier List: Best Guns in 1.0
A 1.0 tier list with reasoning, not just letters — why consistency beats ceiling in Mycopunk, and which guns earn their keep without a finished grid.
Last updated:
Tiers reflect how consistently a weapon carries a real loadout, not best-case damage clips. Mycopunk's upgrade grids reshape every gun, and 1.0's pattern-size scaling changed the math — rankings reflect the 1.0 arsenal.
The Tiers
| Tier | Weapons |
|---|---|
| S | FR.15833 Plate Launcher, Gunship Cannon, Shocklance, Accelerator |
| A | Globbler, Diffraction Driver, Lead Flinger, Au-Si Jackrabbit |
| B | The Cycler, Swarm Launcher, The Carver |
| C | DMLR, Trident S2 |
Why These Guns Sit in S
The Plate Launcher earns the top spot by doing several jobs at once: plates deal real damage, returning plates cut through enemies again, and the setup supports the ammo economy of whatever it is paired with. The Gunship Cannon is the best conventional primary — dependable explosive area damage that does not ask enemies to stand still. The Shocklance combines strong scaling with movement utility and pays off before your grid is finished. The Accelerator keeps contributing while you reposition, which matters in fights that never hold still.
The A-Tier Ceiling Problem
The Globbler may have the highest destructive ceiling in the game under perfect conditions — grounded enemies caught where it wants them disappear. But elevation, flying enemies and awkward terrain all shrink its window, so it stays in A for general play. Rank by maximum damage and it is an S weapon.
What the Lower Tiers Are Really Saying
No weapon in Mycopunk is unusable with the right grid — the build system is too transformative for that. B and C tiers mean the gun asks for more setup, has a narrower target profile, or reaches similar results with more effort. The Cycler is a fine workhorse; the DMLR wants a specific laser build before it competes.
How This Compares Across Games
Mycopunk's build-first identity is unusual among co-op shooters — see how it stacks up against Risk of Rain 2's run-based stacking in our Mycopunk vs Risk of Rain 2 comparison.
What is the best weapon in Mycopunk 1.0?
The FR.15833 Plate Launcher gets the strongest general recommendation for doing damage, utility and ammo support at once. The Gunship Cannon is the best conventional primary.
Is the Globbler good in Mycopunk?
Yes — conditionally. It has one of the highest damage ceilings in the game but depends on grounded enemies and favorable positioning, which is why it sits in A tier for general play.
Are lower tier weapons viable in Mycopunk?
All of them. Upgrade grids can completely reshape a weapon's behavior, and no gun becomes unusable with the right build — lower tiers just demand more setup or more effort.
