How to Get the Carver in Mycopunk (Hidden Chainsaw)
A Broken Frame, Server Access Codes, four weapon modules and eight Saxonite stand between you and Mycopunk's heaviest melee weapon.
最終更新:
The Short Answer
The Carver is a hidden melee chainsaw. The hunt: find the Broken Frame in a Titan City building, use the Server Access Codes it gives you to open the server room on the HUB, collect four Weapon Modules across the regions, spend 8 Saxonite unlocking them, then assemble the frame.
What the Carver Is
The Carver is Mycopunk's chainsaw — a heavy industrial cutting tool whose in-game description reads "heavy combat chainsaw with a high user fatality rate." It is a true melee weapon with its own 25-upgrade pool built around a blood mechanic: sawing enemies builds stacks that fuel movement speed, lightning procs, healing and more. The 1.0 update even added an Exotic, Turkey's Bloodlust, that spends all your blood stacks for a temporary damage burst.
It never drops from missions and never appears in normal progression. It is a secret weapon in the same family as the Globbler, tracked by its own achievement once assembled.
Step 1: Get the Broken Frame in Titan City
Launch any mission in Titan City — difficulty doesn't matter. You are looking for a lone square building near the residential area; a zipline leads straight to it, which makes it easy to spot from the drop zone.
Inside, interact with the console at the far end. Note for co-op squads: one guide reports every player must be present at the console before it activates. Triggering it opens the floor, and the linear path below leads through a room where a couple of laser abominations spawn — run past them or kill them for loot. At the end of the route, behind a large door, sits the Broken Frame. Collecting it also puts the Server Access Codes in your Storage. Finish or abort the mission and return to the rig.
Step 2: Open the Server Room on the HUB
The Server Access Codes unlock a previously locked door on the HUB — the top floor above your spawn rooms. Punch the blue triangle inside to receive the first of four Weapon Modules for the Broken Frame.
Step 3: Collect Three More Modules Across the Map
The remaining modules only spawn after you have the access codes, so don't go hunting early. One per region:
| Region | Module location |
|---|---|
| HUB (server room) | First module — free, from the access codes |
| Gravity Farms | A corner of the map: hop the fence between two buildings and climb the hill — it sits atop the fungus |
| Flourishing Desert | Inside the bottom-left thruster of the massive crashed spaceship — climb the hull and drop down or grapple up |
| Moldy Tundra | On a large circular building: grapple to the ledge near the two protruding cylinders, roughly two stories up |
The Tundra module is the trickiest grab — it demands decent grapple work. If your movement suite feels shaky, the Glider's wingsuit makes high ledges trivial.
Step 4: Farm 8 Saxonite and Unlock the Modules
Each of the four modules requires resources to unlock, and the hard gate is two Saxonite per module — eight total. Saxonite is a rare drop from mission completion, with odds improving at higher threat levels (community figures from before 1.0 put it around 21–30% per mission at Threats 4–6; the 1.0 patch notes say the chance was increased without publishing new numbers). The most reliable farm is the Overtime Assignment, unlocked at level 12, which guarantees one Saxonite per completion. Our full Saxonite farming guide covers every source.
Hover over the modules in your inventory to see exactly what each one needs — most of the other materials are common drops you likely already have.
Step 5: Assemble the Carver
With all four modules unlocked, open your inventory and fit the modules into the Broken Frame. Guides disagree on the exact final arrangement — one describes a diamond pattern, another a triangle — so rotate the modules until the frame accepts them. When it does, the frame transforms into the Carver. Equip it from your loadout and start sawing.
Is the Carver Worth It?
Yes, for a specific playstyle. The Carver lives and dies at melee range in a game full of projectiles, so it will never be a general-purpose pick — but its kit pays aggressive players extremely well:
| Carver strength | What it does |
|---|---|
| Rage (Exotic) | Kills build stacks that boost move speed and damage while you keep sawing |
| Deflector (Exotic) | Deflects incoming projectiles while sawing — the "chainsaw with a shield" the Steam page brags about |
| Nutritious Cores (Exotic) | Killed cores drop chunks of health, fueling your dive back into the swarm |
| Blood economy | Blood stacks feed lightning, jumps and 1.0's Turkey's Bloodlust burst |
It shines in corridors, chokepoints and any build that already wants to live inside enemy groups — a natural partner for a Bruiser frontline playstyle or a grid built around survival. If ranged poke is more your speed, the meta guns in our weapon tier list will serve you better. For the condensed version of this hunt, see the short chainsaw unlock page.
What is the Carver in Mycopunk?
The game's hidden chainsaw — a melee weapon found as a Broken Frame in Titan City and assembled from four Weapon Modules gathered across the regions.
How much Saxonite do you need for the Carver?
Eight. Each of the four Broken Frame modules costs two Saxonite to unlock, on top of small amounts of common resources.
Where do the Carver weapon modules spawn?
One in the HUB server room (unlocked with the Server Access Codes from the Broken Frame), one in Gravity Farms on a fungus, one in the Flourishing Desert spaceship's lower thruster, and one on a circular building in Moldy Tundra. They only appear after you hold the access codes.
Can you get the Carver early in Mycopunk?
The frame is available from any Titan City mission, but the eight Saxonite realistically push the Carver to midgame — the Overtime Assignment farm unlocks at level 12.
Is the Carver good in Mycopunk?
It is a niche powerhouse. Melee range is a real handicap against ranged swarms, but its blood-fueled rage, projectile deflection and self-healing make it one of the most fun aggressive weapons in the game.
