Mycopunk Leveling Guide: Fast Levels, Licenses & Incursion
Player levels gate rotation and infusion, weapon levels hide build-defining rewards, and licenses decide your arsenal order — here is the efficient order of operations.

Why Levels Matter More Than Kills
Mycopunk's progression is unusually legible: player levels unlock system features, and weapon levels unlock build pieces. Knowing the next unlock changes what you should farm.
| Player level | Unlocks |
|---|---|
| 3 | Standard upgrade rotation |
| 4 | Focus (target drops on one weapon) |
| 8 | Rare rotation |
| 13 | Incursion mode — source of Antimass Substrate for infusion |
| 16 | Epic rotation |
| 30 | Exotic+ rotation |
Weapon levels run on a separate track. The Enemy Update added Boundary Incursion as every weapon's level 32 reward — including weapons whose earlier level rewards were already claimed.
Armament Licenses: Spend on Gaps
Leveling up grants Armament Licenses, which unlock weapons in the order you choose. The efficient pattern is to unlock for role coverage, not loyalty: if your squad already has crowd clear, license the boss weapon. The inventory's Codex lists acquisition details for non-secret entries, so you can always check what a weapon needs.
Incursion and Antimass Substrate
At level 13 you unlock Incursion, Mycopunk's timed underground mode. Progressing through its floors awards Antimass Substrate, the resource pattern infusion consumes. Antimass also drops from other high-threat missions, so pushing difficulty is the real infusion farm. 1.0 reduced the Saxonite cost of crafting undiscovered upgrades, which softens the grind for completionists.
An Efficient Weekly Loop
- Rotate between cleanup missions and Incursion floors — one feeds levels, the other feeds infusion.
- Focus your anchor weapon (level 4 unlock) while its next weapon-level reward matters.
- Rebuild grids at every rotation milestone instead of hoarding pieces.
- Chase the 1.0 fulfillments (the in-game achievement system) alongside Steam's 48 achievements — they overlap heavily.
What level does infusion unlock in Mycopunk?
Pattern infusion becomes available at player level 13, when the Incursion mode opens and starts awarding Antimass Substrate.
How do I unlock weapons in Mycopunk?

What is Boundary Incursion in Mycopunk?
Boundary Incursion is a weapon-level 32 reward added by the Enemy Update, granted for every weapon — including ones whose earlier level rewards were already claimed.
